PRE RACE WEEK
> Establish onshore infrastrucure at
Port Browning
(Organizing Committees)
FRIDAY (day before first race day)
> Arrive at Port Browning (Competitors and Committees)
> Moor race boats, motherships as instructed
> Establish camp onshore if desired
> Particpate in practice race as scheduled by Race Officer, per NOR
> Pick up Race Packages containing Sailing Instructions as instructed per NOR
SATURDAY (first race day)
> Attend Skipper's Meeting as instructed per NOR
DAILY
> Onshore early morning: read the RIPS TIDINGS newsletter (selected yachts prepare for daily contribution), make lunches, prepare for racing
> On the water: race, race, race, race, race, starting as instructed per NOR
> In the tent ashore: attend prize-giving after last race, view photo show, partake in Beer Tents, Rum Night and Games Night as advertised, enjoy dinner (Port Browning pub or other) and remainder of evening
RIPS IDOL
> Participate in a true gala extravaganza - RIPS IDOL
>
Open to individual or group entertainers in comedy, music, dance, drama, skit, whatever
> Plan in advance to bring props, costumes & music
PORT BROWNING offers: Marina, Camping, Showers, Washrooms, Swimming Pool, Pub and Cafe
ACCOMMODATION & OTHER INFORMATION
> Nosey Point (double & single rooms available in a house just steps away from Port Browning) has been booked just for RIPS. Reservations and bookings may be made through The Foleys.
> Inn on Pender, Poet's Cove; check out Travel BC for other options
> Driftwood Centre (up the road a few minutes from Port Browning) contains: Tru Value Foods grocery & sponsor, Post Office, Pharmacy, Liquor Store, Insurance Agency, Bakery, Deli,
Gift Store, Clothing Store, Gas Station and a Gallery/Book shop
> Area Activities include: Golf, Disc-Golf, Kayaking etc.
